What Happens When a Life of Crime Meets the Grace of God in the Back of a Police Car?
In the latest episode of Rebuilding Life After Addiction, I sat down with Rob Reynolds and Joe from Crossroads Freedom Centerâa conversation that moved me in ways I didnât expect. Joeâs story, as he shared his journey from a life of crime and addiction to finding freedom in Jesus, reminded me of the deep, transformative power of grace.
Joeâs life started out under a shadow, growing up as the son of a bootlegger, running drugs for the mafia, and sinking into a life of addiction and darkness. He found himself in places few come back from. But then, in the back of a police car, he encountered Jesus in a way that forever changed him. It was in that broken moment that Godâs grace met him, revealing a hope he never thought possible.
Listening to Joe share his story hit home for me personally. His faithfulness to stay the course, even when things were at their hardest, challenged and inspired me in my own ministry journey. Joeâs resilience is a powerful reminder that no matter how far weâve fallen, God can use even the darkest moments to bring about incredible transformation. His story reaffirms why we do what we doâbecause true freedom is within reach for everyone.
If you need encouragement, or if youâre supporting someone battling addiction, this episode is a reminder that nobody is ever too far gone. Thereâs always hope, always a chance for redemption.
